‘Na na na na, na na na na’: White Home’s deportation video with pop soundtrack stokes controversy

The USA continues with its crackdown on unlawful immigration within the nation. Nonetheless, the steps taken on this regard haven’t remained freed from controversy, with the most recent being a White Home video on X showcasing immigrants with pop music within the background.

In a video posted on X, the White Home showcases the deportation of immigrants with UK pop group Bananarama’s hit observe ‘Na Na Hey Hey’ enjoying within the background. Within the footage, people may be seen being escorted as they stand in line. The soundtrack, which gives the look of one thing celebratory happening, has attracted large criticism from netizens, as they accuse US President Donald Trump of ‘dehumanising susceptible folks’.

One of many customers referred to the incident as ‘state-sponsored dehumanisation – with a soundtrack’, including, “This isn’t coverage. Weaponising struggling. Mocking lives torn aside. Celebrating cruelty prefer it’s a recreation present.” 

 “It will be nice if you happen to guys stopped with the dehumanising posts! It’s disgusting,” one other person mentioned. 

“That is the official White Home web page? What a disrespectful and shameful method the supposedly most revered workplace within the land is performing like. This isn’t what I fought for in any respect. It’s alleged to characterize the nation professionally, what a disgrace”, one other person quipped. 

The White Home later, in a press release, mentioned, “In March, Border Patrol encountered simply 7,181 unlawful immigrants on the southern border.
