Nations League Last: Fan dies after falling from stands throughout Portugal-Spain showdown at Allianz Enviornment

A spectator was killed after falling from the stands on the Nations League last between Portugal and Spain in Munich on Sunday, UEFA confirmed to AFP subsidiary SID.

The fan fell from the central tier in the course of the first interval of additional time into the press field within the decrease tier. Paramedics and police rushed to the scene to help the fan.

A UEFA spokesperson mentioned there had been a “medical emergency” and confirmed {that a} fan had “sadly” died in the course of the match.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente made an announcement to precise his condolences to the fan on the post-match press convention.

A consultant of the Portuguese staff made an identical assertion of condolences, saying the dying “casts a shadow on our victory in the present day.”

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez echoed the feelings, saying it was “extraordinarily unhappy information.”

The supporter is estimated to have fallen round eight metres. How the fan fell or beneath what circumstances, is  unclear.
