Newlywed UP Lady Phases Sit-In Outdoors In-Legal guidelines’ Home Over Rs 50 Lakh ‘Dowry Demand’

Muzaffarnagar: A newlywed lady has been sitting outdoors her in-laws’ home in A to Z Colony since March 30, after she was denied entry by her husband Pranav Singhal and his household, allegedly over a Rs 50 lakh dowry demand.

Shalini Singhal, 30, married Pranav Singhal, 32, on February 2 this 12 months. The couple went on a honeymoon to Indonesia on February 15 and returned after ten days.

In line with sources, Shalini lived together with her in-laws until March 5, after which she went to her dad and mom’ home for Holi. When she returned on March 30, she was allegedly barred from coming into the home, main her to go on her sit-in.

In the meantime, Pranav Singhal denied asking for any dowry and mentioned he and his household worry for his or her security.

“We’re afraid of what she may do, particularly after the Meerut blue drum incident. She has threatened us with dire penalties. That is why we can not enable her to remain in our home,” he alleged.

Addressing the media, Circle Officer of New Mandi, Rupali Rao, mentioned, “The police haven’t but acquired any grievance from the bride. We are going to take motion as soon as a proper grievance is lodged.”
