Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday introduced that state authorities has elevated the pension from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 below the Social Safety Pension Scheme. The choice is taken in view of the Meeting elections in Bihar, set to happen by the top of 2025.

The beneficiaries will get the elevated pension from the month of July and shall be subsequently credited into the account on tenth of each month.

Taking to X, Nitish Kumar wrote, “I’m completely satisfied to tell you that below the Social Safety Pension Scheme, widowed ladies, aged and disabled individuals will now get a pension of Rs 1100 as a substitute of Rs 400 each month.”

In response to the Chief Minister, the rise in pension will assist 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 beneficiaries.

“The aged are a treasured a part of society and guaranteeing their dignified dwelling is our high precedence. The state authorities will proceed to make efforts on this course,” the Chief Minister added.

Bihar, which has 243 Meeting seats, is more likely to go to the polls in October-November this 12 months.
