The White Home has categorically denied stories that any overseas army chief, together with Pakistan’s Military Chief Discipline Marshal Asim Munir, has been invited to the upcoming U.S. Military parade in Washington, marking the 250th anniversary of the American armed forces.
“That is false. No overseas army leaders have been invited,” a White Home official stated, refuting a number of media stories from South Asia.
The stories claimed that Mr. Munir can be a visitor of honour on the June 14 celebration, which can be U.S. President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
Derek Grossman, a senior defence analyst at RAND Company, criticised the rumoured invitation, calling it a “diplomatic setback” for India.
“For India, the Trump admin’s invitation to Pakistani Discipline Marshal Asim Munir is tantamount to inviting an avowed anti-India terrorist,” he stated in submit on X.
Congress responds
India’s Opposition Congress Social gathering described it as a diplomatic setback for the Modi Authorities.
“Failed Marshal Asim Munir, who gave such inflammatory, incendiary and provocative statements, talked in regards to the two-nation principle, Hindus and Muslims, and there’s a direct relation between his assertion and what occurred in Pahalgam on April 22. Identical Asim Munir will get a particular invitation to go to America on U.S. Military Day on June 14, which is meaningless,” the Congress chief Jairam Ramesh stated.
In anticipation of Mr. Munir’s go to, the U.S. chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had introduced a protest rally in entrance of the Pakistani Embassy in Washington on Saturday. “PTI USA, alongside 12+ Pakistani diaspora organisations, is holding an enormous protest in Washington DC to oppose #UndeclaredMartialLawin Pakistan and to face towards tyranny and lift our voice for a free and honest Pakistan,” it stated.
