No proposal at current to hike salaries of SC, HC judges: Authorities – The Instances of India

NEW DELHI: There isn’t a proposal at current to hike the wage and allowances of Supreme Courtroom and excessive courtroom judges, the federal government mentioned within the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. The final time their wage, allowances and pensions had been hiked was in 2017.
“Presently, no proposal for enhancing pay, allowances and pension and so forth for the judges of Supreme Courtroom and excessive courts is into account of the federal government,” regulation minister Arjun Ram Meghwal mentioned in a written reply.
He mentioned the pay, allowance and pension in respect of judges of the Supreme Courtroom and the 25 excessive courts are ruled by The Supreme Courtroom Judges (Salaries and Situations of Service) Act, 1958 and The Excessive Courtroom Judges (Wage and Situations of Providers) Act, 1954 respectively.
The wage, pension and allowances of judges of the upper had been final revised with impact from January 1, 2016 following the implementation of the seventh pay fee suggestion by the federal government, by an modification in each the legal guidelines.
The Chief Justice of India (CJI) will get Rs 2.80 lakh per thirty days and judges of the Supreme Courtroom and chief justices of the excessive courts get Rs 2.50 lakh a month.
Judges of the excessive courts get Rs 2.25 lakh per thirty days.
The federal government had lately mentioned it could arrange the 8the pay fee.
