The district committee has set November 9, 2025 because the tentative date for the demolition of the dual towers of Chander Kunj Military Towers at Vytilla in Kochi, Kerala, and October 31, 2029 for handing over the newly constructed flats.

This was a part of the flowery four-phase plan the committee has drawn up for the proposed demolition and reconstruction of the dual towers beginning with the evacuation of affected households by July 31.

The district committee, with the District Collector as convener and representatives of the Military Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO), residents affiliation, specialists and officers related to the demolition and reconstruction, was fashioned in compliance with the Kerala Excessive Courtroom order dated February 3, 2025.

Two months for the evacuation of the affected households marks the primary part of the method. The affected households shall be given three weeks’ discover forward of evacuation. The committee has requested AWHO to launch three months’ lease primarily based on the class of the condominium unit they’ve been holding as determined by the courtroom.
