OpenAI is in discussions to purchase synthetic intelligence-assisted coding instrument Windsurf for about $3 billion, Bloomberg Information reported on Wednesday, citing an individual accustomed to the matter.
The deal could be OpenAI’s largest so far, the phrases of which haven’t but been finalized, the report mentioned, including the talks might change or collapse.
OpenAI declined to remark, whereas Windsurf, previously referred to as Codeium, didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
Windsurf was in talks with traders reminiscent of Kleiner Perkins and Common Catalyst to boost funding at a $3 billion valuation, the report added.
