Throughout the evening of Monday (Could 5, 2025) and Tuesday (Could 6, 2025), the Pakistan Military continued to violate the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked small-arms firing from posts throughout the Line of Management.
Indian Military responded in a proportionate method to the firing in areas reverse Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor in J&Ok.

This marks the twelfth consecutive evening of such provocations amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terror assault in Pahalgam that left 26 useless.
“Throughout the evening of Could 5-6, Pakistan Military initiated unprovoked small-arms fireplace throughout the LoC in areas reverse Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor,” mentioned a Defence spokesperson in Jammu.

The firing exchanges are taking locations in 5 districts out of seven border districts of Jammu and Kashmir. To date, there was no firing reviews alongside Worldwide Border in Samba and Kathua districts.

The newest spherical of cross-border firing additional undermines the ceasefire settlement reached in February 2021, which is now largely seen as ineffective because of Pakistan’s frequent violations throughout the 740-km-long LoC.
The newest hostilities started within the northern districts of Kupwara and Baramulla within the Kashmir Valley, earlier than spreading southwards to Rajouri, Poonch, Akhnoor, and the Pargwal sector alongside the Worldwide Border in Jammu district. The firing affected 5 border districts — Baramulla, Kupwara, Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu.
Because the evening of April 24, hours after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty in response to the Pahalgam terror assault—Pakistani troops have repeatedly focused Indian positions alongside the LoC, starting within the Kashmir Valley and rapidly increasing to the Jammu area.
In a collection of retaliatory measures, Pakistan blocked its airspace for Indian carriers, shut down the Wagah border crossing, suspended bilateral commerce, and warned that any diversion of water below the Indus Waters Treaty can be thought of an “Act of Warfare.”

The February 2021 settlement was a reaffirmation of the unique 2003 ceasefire understanding. Nevertheless, the bottom scenario has deteriorated considerably, with ceasefire norms routinely flouted by Pakistani forces.
India and Pakistan share a 3,323-kilometre-long border, divided into three segments together with the Worldwide Border (IB), stretching about 2,400 km from Gujarat to Akhnoor in Jammu, the 740-km-long Line of Management (LoC) from Jammu to Ladakh, and the 110-km-long Precise Floor Place Line (AGPL) that divides the Siachen Glacier area from NJ9842 to Indira Col.
