Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday mentioned that the Waqf (Modification) Invoice might be taken up for consideration and passage within the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, with an 8-hour dialogue allotted for its deliberation.
Rijiju made the announcement after a gathering of the Enterprise Advisory Committee (BAC), chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Chatting with the media after the assembly, Rijiju mentioned, “Within the Enterprise Advisory Committee (BAC) assembly of Lok Sabha, I had proposed earlier than the committee that tomorrow on 2nd April, we’re bringing the Waqf Modification Invoice and for that now we have to allocate time for dialogue.”
Parliamentary Affairs Minister added that, after deliberations, it was agreed that the full time allotted for the dialogue could be eight hours, with the opportunity of an extension relying on the consensus of the Home. “If the Home feels that the time for dialogue needs to be prolonged, then the time could be prolonged,” Rijiju continued.
“But when they (opposition) don’t need to take part within the dialogue by making some excuse, then I can not cease it. We would like dialogue. Each political celebration has the suitable to specific its opinion and the nation needs to listen to which political celebration has what stand on the modification invoice,” he added.

The Union Minister additional clarified that the Waqf Invoice might be launched instantly after the Query Hour on Wednesday, adopted by the eight hours of allotted dialogue.
The dialogue on the Waqf Modification Invoice sparked disagreement between the federal government and the opposition throughout the BAC assembly. Whereas the opposition events demanded 12 hours for dialogue, the federal government proposed a shorter timeframe on account of one other necessary situation to be mentioned—the statutory decision denouncing the imposition of central rule in Manipur. In consequence, the federal government restricted the dialogue on the Waqf Invoice to eight hours.
