He was the Joel Dorman Steele emeritus professor at Syracuse College and an internationally recognised theoretical physicist.

After finishing his bachelor’s diploma on the Madras Christian School, he acquired his Ph.D from the College of Madras underneath the steerage of Alladi Ramakrishnan.
