President Murmu Attends Change Of Guard Ceremony Held In New Format

The change of guard ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan will now be held in a brand new format, that includes an elaborate visible and musical efficiency towards the backdrop of the presidential palace, an official assertion mentioned on Sunday.

The brand new format consists of army drills by troops and horses of the President’s Bodyguard, together with personnel from the Ceremonial Guard Battalion and the Ceremonial Navy Brass Band. The show might be unfold over a bigger space, the assertion added.

President Droupadi Murmu witnessed the inaugural ceremony in its new format on Sunday on the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, in line with the assertion issued by her workplace.

The ceremony might be open to a bigger variety of guests from February 22, the assertion mentioned.

Change of guard, a time-honoured army custom, was launched as a ceremonial occasion in 2007 at Rashtrapati Bhavan permitting a recent group of the President’s Bodyguard to take cost.

Raised in 1773, the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) is the senior-most regiment of the Indian Military, tasked with ceremonial duties for the president. PBG personnel are expert horsemen, tank operators, and paratroopers.
