Pujari scheme: Kejriwal launches registration amid protest, escalates battle
The political battle over the Pujari Granthi Samman Yojna introduced by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal intensified on Tuesday, 31 December 2024, as he launched the registration course of for the scheme at a temple in Kashmiri Gate in Delhi.
Kejriwal, who was scheduled to launch the registration course of on the Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place, modified the venue amid protests by a gaggle of clergymen on the CP temple who objected to his asserting the honorarium after a delay of 10 years.
The BJP criticised Kejriwal, dubbing him a “chunavi Hindu (election-time Hindu)” and launched a video highlighting alleged situations of Hinduism being insulted by AAP leaders.

Kejriwal, who had earlier introduced the launch of the registration course of from the Hanuman temple, gave the CP venue a miss and as an alternative reached the Marghat Wale Baba temple in north Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate and registered the priest there into the scheme.
Alongside, chief minister Atishi launched the registration course of for granthis at a gurudwara in Karol Bagh.
