SpaDeX docking: ISRO arrests drift between satellites
The Indian House Analysis Organisation (ISRO), which had postponed the deliberate docking of the 2 SpaDeX satellites, has arrested the drift between the spacecraft.
“SpaDeX Docking Replace: The drift has been arrested and spacecraft put in a sluggish drift course to maneuver nearer to one another. By tomorrow, it’s anticipated to achieve initialisation situations,” ISRO posted on Thursday (January 9, 2025).
On Wednesday (January 8, 2025) hours earlier than it was scheduled to hold out the SpaDeX docking experiment, ISRO stated that the docking experiment which was scheduled to happen on January 9 has been postponed because the drift between the satellites was discovered greater than anticipated.
“Whereas making a maneuver to achieve 225 m between satellites the drift was discovered to be greater than anticipated, put up non-visibility interval. The deliberate docking for tomorrow is postponed. Satellites are protected,” ISRO had introduced.

This was the second time ISRO postponed the SpaDex docking experiment.
The docking of the 2 satellites was initially scheduled for January 7 however was postponed to January 9. Although ISRO stated that the drift has been arrested, it has not introduced the brand new date and time for the docking experiment.
