Spain Grand Prix: Piastri wins forward of McLaren teammate Norris to increase F1 lead

Oscar Piastri gained the Spanish Grand Prix forward of McLaren teammate Lando Norris as McLaren continued its early dominance of the System 1 championship on Sunday (June 1, 2025).
Piastri flew away from his pole place and executed a flawless race to increase his lead within the driver standings.
Norris crossed behind him after he recovered from a foul begin. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari was third.
Max Verstappen crossed fifth however was dropped to tenth after he was given a 10-second penalty for colliding with fourth=place finisher George Russell of Mercedes late.
It was the third McLaren one-two of the season and the staff’s seventh win in 9 races, with Piastri taking 5 of these victories.
“Very laborious to complain. It has been an important yr,” Piastri stated. “We executed all the things we wanted to. I’m actually having fun with it.”
