Suicide bomber targets Damascus church, kills a minimum of 15 worshippers; Syria blames ISIS

A suicide bomber in Syria on Sunday detonated himself inside a church, killing a minimum of 15 folks, AFP reported.
The explosion in Dweil’a within the outskirts of Damascus befell as folks had been praying contained in the Mar Elias Church, in line with the Related Press.
Syria’s inside ministry mentioned a member of the Islamic State group was behind the assault.
“A suicide attacker affiliated with the Daesh (IS) terrorist group entered the Saint Elias church… opened fireplace, then blew himself up with an explosive belt,” the nation’s inside ministry mentioned in a press release.
The Syrian civil defence mentioned in a press release that the assault killed “greater than 15 folks and a variety of wounded, in line with a preliminary toll”.
A witness informed AFP exterior the church that “somebody entered from exterior carrying a weapon” and commenced capturing, including that folks “tried to cease him earlier than he blew himself up”.
