The seamstresses who customary Apollo’s spacesuits

When NASA wanted a lunar spacesuit for the Apollo astronauts, they turned to the Worldwide Latex Company, and a cadre of girls who usually sewed latex bras and girdles, to create a softer, extra versatile spacesuit. Tracy Smith talked with a number of the seamstresses who customary protecting put on that might imply life or dying for males in house, and with Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison “Jack” Schmitt who was the final man to stroll, and soar, on the lunar floor.
