Theatre artiste Alok Chatterjee dies at 63
Theatre actor-director Alok Chatterjee, whose stage credit embrace Loss of life of a Salesman and Nat Samrat, died on Tuesday morning, 7 January, on account of a number of organ failure at a hospital in Bhopal.
Chatterjee, a gold medallist of the 1987 batch of the Nationwide College of Drama and former director of the MP College of Drama, would have turned 64 on 11 January.
In response to his shut affiliate Manoj Joshi, Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital on 31 December.
“He was affected by kidney ailment for 7–8 months. His liver was additionally affected. Once we admitted him to the hospital, his lungs additionally began to get affected. Final night time his coronary heart began giving approach. He breathed his final at round 3 a.m.,” Joshi instructed PTI.
A Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recipient, Chatterjee was the batchmate of actor Irrfan Khan and producer Sutapa Sikdar.
He’s survived by his spouse Shobha, son Pratyush and daughter-in-law Rashi.
The final rites had been held in Bhopal on Tuesday afternoon.
