There’s no query of being afraid… No matter he’s referring to, he’s giving incorrect data to the Home and I’m obligated to make clear…”
When BJP nationwide president JP Nadda intervened and demanded an apology from Gokhale for allegedly offering incorrect and inaccurate data, the Home descended into chaos with the TMC MP emphasising he is not going to be making one.
He stated: “I can’t be apologising to him (Shah)!” Different members of the TMC had been heard saying: “Dialogue is our proper, we is not going to apologise. Will you not even permit us to debate something?”
Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar urged Gokhale to withdraw his remarks towards Shah and stated such statements discourage wholesome debate within the Home. When Gokhale refused to withdraw them, he referred to as his remarks “unparliamentary, not well-motivated” and stated they are going to be expunged.
