As Bashar al-Assad’s regime fell in Syria on December 8, family of detainees within the nation’s varied prisons have been lining as much as seek for their lacking relations.

One such jail, Sednaya jail, turned infamously often known as a ‘human slaughterhouse’ because of its alleged brutal remedy of detainees.

The Sednaya jail was broadly believed for use as a device for persecuting opposition forces and forcing them into submission. Experiences point out that 1000’s of opposition supporters endured horrific circumstances inside, which earned the jail its notorious title.

Inside Sednaya jail, reviews reveal harrowing accounts of torture, sexual abuse, and mass executions. An estimated 30,000 detainees are believed to have died because of these brutal circumstances between 2011 and 2018 alone.

It was used as a high-security facility for political prisoners, opposition members, and people accused of opposing the Assad regime.
