Watch: Big waves strike Peruvian shoreline
Three-quarters of all ports in Peru have been closed due to big waves lashing the coast.
Seashores are closed and fishing boats have been prevented for heading out to sea as a security precaution.
The waves are being brought on by persistent winds off the coast of the US, in keeping with The Chief of Hydrography and Navigation for Peru’s Navy, Enrique Varea.
