President Trump on Monday is visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and delivering remarks at Arlington Nationwide Cemetery to commemorate Memorial Day

The president laid a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a somber annual custom for presidents, and one Mr. Trump participated in throughout his first time period as president. He was accompanied by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Protection Pete Hegseth, who stood behind him as he positioned the wreath. 

Early Monday, Mr. Trump posted a message on his social media platform Fact Social about Memorial Day, writing in all caps that he wished a “completely happy Memorial Day to all,” together with the “scum that spent the final 4 years making an attempt to destroy our nation by way of warped radical left minds.” He went on to focus on immigration insurance policies and accused “USA-hating judges who are suffering from an ideology that’s sick, and really harmful for our nation” of defending criminals. 

Memorial Day honors those that died in uniform on account of battle. For the reason that Revolutionary Warfare, the Division of Veterans Affairs estimates greater than 650,000 U.S. army personnel have died in battle.
