Opposition MPs protest expunction of dissent notes on Waqf Invoice report

On Monday, opposition MPs Kalyan Banerjee and Md Nadimul Haque, protested the alleged expunction of key parts of their dissent notes submitted to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf (Modification) Invoice.

In a letter addressed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the MPs alleged that their objections have been eliminated arbitrarily with out prior discover or rationalization.

“To our dismay and utter shock, we discovered that the next goals and dissent notes have been deleted by the Chairman with out informing us and with out our consent,” ANI quoted the the MPs’ letter.
