Two-day theatre fest

An all-women’s staff will stage two performs Karna and Madhav at Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy on March 7 and eight. Organised by Darpan Theatre Group from Lucknow, directed by Kulvinder Bakshish Singh and written by Ashutosh Dwivedi, the play may have actors Vinita Joshi, Sanjana Deshmukh, Noyrika and Chandani Shrivastava.

“Historic Indian kinds like Kalaripayattu from Kerala, Thang Ta from Manipur, Mayurbhanj Chhou from Odisha, Kaibul Lamjao and Laiharova from North-East India and Jatra from West Bengal have been included within the play and the actors have gone by way of intensive coaching for this. These women are taking part in 72 characters in each performs together with male characters,” says Kulvinder.

Leisure

The primary night race of the season, Saraca Cup, shall be held on the Lucknow Race Course on March 8. The continued Lucknow Ebook Competition at Ravindralaya will concentrate on books written by ladies authors and a particular part shall be created, knowledgeable organiser Manoj Singh Chandel.
